ALLY McCoist was put back in his box this morning on the TalkSport Alan Brazil Show when Shay Given came on the air to talk football.

After a lengthy discussion about different things in the game; Given finished his chat by telling Ally McCoist to ‘calm down’ about bigging up a certain Ibrox club’s title challenge.

Speaking to Brazil, Given said: “Can I just finish by telling Ally McCoist to calm down because Celtic are still top of the league on the Scottish front.”

McCoist Replied: “It’s a first time in a wee while you’re having a wee look over your shoulder though, Shay,”

To which the Irishman responded: “Your boys are still looking down, don’t worry.”

Given had a fantastic football career and some may not know the Irishman was actually in Celtic’s youth system back in the 90s before the club let him go.

He is still a massive Celtic fan and has been seen attending matches down the years and has played at Celtic Park for Ireland in a testimonial.

It’s nice to see ex-footballers in the media actually talking up Celtic for a change, it seems all we hear is negativity.

The bhoys go into the second half of the season, top of the league with a game in hand having already won the League Cup and progressed in Europe.

Simmer down.

  1. Shay Given is correct in his honest assumption. The Hoops players have been looking down on sevco so long they have a crick in their necks. No need to worry though. For every £1 Joking say’s he’s going to spend. Celtic have spent £30.HWGFTINR.Swally.

  2. We really have to be on our toes the rest of this season – Davis & Defoe will improve them ; be in no doubt this lot smell blood but also probably can’t believe they’re almost level at this point. Our game plan MUST now be to go for the jugular whoever or wherever we’re playing. Celts , this is serious , stage 8 is at stake ! Get out there and show why you’re Champions !
