Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has hit out at Nicky Hammond and Celtic’s signing policy.

After Wednesday nights defeat to Ferencvaros, the former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker has claimed in his Sun column that Neil Lennon was out to make a statement, by not starting with a recognised striker.

Of course, Neil Lennon made the choice on Wednesday night to start with midfielder Ryan Christie up top and did not bring a striker on until Albian Ajeti was brought on with 12 minutes to go.

Polish striker Patryk Klimala also remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes and after the game Lennon claimed that both Klimala and Ajeti were not match fit.

Boyd, then went on to claim that the Northern Irishman has made his mind up on the young striker and the clubs recruitment in the last few years has been ‘poor’ before listing the likes of Boli Bolingoli, Vakoun Bayo and Marian Shved.

The pundit yet again, appears to be trying to stir things up between the Celtic support and the playing squad. He has previous of doing this, after mentioning a few years back that there was a ‘ split in the dressing room’

However there very little criticism of a club who haven’t won the last 11 trophies in a row.

Now, he claiming that the manager is trying to play games with the clubs hierarchy and even that it could go deeper after his comments that this sort of thing had been bugging him for a while.

Wednesday night was a frustrating one, that we have to get out of our systems now. We were all annoyed and I’m sure that included Neil Lennon. Unfortunately for us, I’m sure we will be hearing still like this for a little while longer, until we get ourselves back in track and try to get Ferencvaros out our minds.

  1. Shut this muppet up for good and inundate sky sports with complaints of how they can allow such a bigot to be anywhere near a Celtic game. The Celtic hierarchy should ban him from paradise and force sky to rethink his position! I did complain to them on his treatment of Leigh Griffith but with big bluenose Jim White being held in such high regard I didn’t expect a reply and non was forthcoming.HAIL HAIL.

  2. Wednesday night was the biggest disaster for years and the beginning of the end for this very successful period in our History. The manager appears to have lost it and appears disinterested and frustrated at times. Half the first team don’t want to be there. A combination of having one everything again and again and cowardice, not wanting to be in the team that blew the ten. Eddy, McGregor, Ajer, Htcham are all off. Brown is finished and will play about half the season. That is 5 first team players. Christie, Rogic are another 2 who may be gone. Klimala is a headless chicken and never a Celtic player. Ajeti is just trying to work towards getting a chance in the English Championship. And the current scouting policy is focused on Preston and Peterborough. It is desperate to watch. The manager should walk and someone should be brought in and given a huge slice of the 60-70 million we are just about to rake in from the sale of the above build a team of first team players ready to play. No more prospects. No more second raters from the EPL or the Championship. Hammond needs to get a grip. The split of the squad started with FF, once others from a winning team start to go they all want out.
