KRIS COMMONS has predicted that Celtic will win the Easter Sunday derby ‘comfortably’. The two sides are set to clash in the Scottish Cup semi-final for the pair’s fourth meeting of the season.

After The Rangers got the better of Celtic in the season’s first derby, Celtic won both derbies since. By doing so, they climbed to the top of the table and extended their lead to six points.

It will be an exciting encounter; with Hampden welcoming both sets of fans, the atmosphere will be electric.

The former Celtic midfielder believes the first twenty-five minutes will be beserk, but both teams will settle into the game with Postecoglou’s side to come out on top. [The National]

“Ange has never been one for defending. He won’t be looking to creep over the line in the Scottish Cup either. He’ll be looking to blow Rangers away. Looking to win emphatically with entertaining, attacking football in the Celtic tradition. And if Celtic can maintain their recent form, they should do that.

“I think Celtic will be comfortable winners on Sunday. The first 25 to 30 minutes will be frantic as both teams try and lay down a marker at Hampden. Given the extra preparation time, confidence, and the momentum however, Celtic will be well placed to win and add to the demise of Rangers’ rebuild.

“If Celtic go on and win a treble, it would be quite remarkable. It would be right up there, without a shadow of a doubt. When you look back to last summer, there was a new chief executive, a new captain, a new manager, a new team. He came into the club on his own, almost as a one-man band, but now his Celtic team is looking like an unstoppable rolling stone.”

Postecoglou is looking for performance levels to raise from Saturday’s game, as he always is.

He’ll be looking for another win against the Ibrox club, knowing that a win makes his side a step closer to the treble.
