KRIS COMMONS looks set to sign a new deal in the coming weeks but as the contract negotiations go on, Kris isn’t just worried about his pay packet, he also wants to know if the Club still has ambition. He spoke about his potential new contract.

“My agent was in this week for brief discussions – not just for the length of contract but what is happening at Celtic in the future

“Where does the Board & Chairman see us in two or three years time? I want to be playing my best years of my career at the top level”

The former Scottish International has just turned 31 and his next contract could very well be his last so it’s no wonder he is asking serious questions of where the club is going.

Kris and his family have integrated into the club fantastically since his move from Derby back in 2011. He spoke of his relationship with the club and its fans.

“I’ve got a great relationship with the players, staff and fans and I just want to keep performing for Celtic as long as possible. he said.

He accepts that the new coaching staff needs time to bed their ideas into the squad. The new manager is a far departure for Neil Lennon in many ways and Kris recognises this.

“The new manager is obviously on a bit of a learning curve about what his best team is and the best formation is. It’s just one of those things that has changed at the minute.”

The midfielder hasn’t started the season off as well as he’d like but the sooner he finds his shooting boots the better it will be for Celtic and Ronny Deila.

We hope to see Kris signed up for a while yet.
