KRISTOFFER AJER wasn’t in the squad on Saturday against Ross County with Jozo Simunovic taking his place in the side.

Ajer played in the game against Kilmarnock midweek and many expected he would be alongside Christopher Jullien for the SPFL home tie.

Neil Lennon has shed some light on the situation and it wasn’t an injury keeping Ajer out the team but a ‘virus’ the Celtic manager explained:

“Ajer has a virus so hopefully he will be back on Monday.” he told SunSport.

Celtic have got St Johnstone up next as they hit the road for the next run of games. The bhoys have made sure they’ve been winning on their return and that’s six points out of six.

All the players can keep doing is win and the rest will take care of itself. Ajer should hopefully be back in the team on Wednesday and allow Neil Lennon to revert to a back three if he thinks it would be useful on the night.
