KRISTOFFER AJER has lavished praise on John Kennedy – even after exiting Celtic to play in the Premier League with Brentford.

The Norweigan grew up a lot at Celtic and turned from a scrawny young midfielder, into a robust ball playing centre-back. While that takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the player – he needed help along the way.

That’s why Kris is full of praise for John Kennedy. The Celtic coach comes under a lot of criticism almost daily from some in the Celtic support, but from Ajer’s perspective, the Celtic coach is someone worth keeping around.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, the Norwegian international said: “John Kennedy is someone I am extremely close to. He is so good at developing young players, with the way he took care of me.

“There are difficult spells when you play football. You play bad games and, especially in a place like Glasgow, it can be quite tough. But he’s a guy that took care of me so well. He spent days off helping me develop at the training ground.

“He was always there when I needed him. He’s a guy I have huge respect for. He was a great coach as well. You could see the work he put in every day.

“Football can change so quickly but the quality he puts in every single day for the players shows he will be a top coach for so many years. He’s a very good man.”

Ajer and Brentford have enjoyed a top start to the season and find themselves 7th in the English Premier League at the moment.

We wrote earlier today about former SPL chief Roger Mitchell imploring Celtic to look at the way Brentford operate as a club in an attempt to modernise the Glasgow club.

The English side have been run very well and it’s why they find themselves in the EPL.

They have a clear structure and plan – something Celtic lack.
