Sky Sports is reporting this afternoon Kristoffer Ajer is on the brink of his much touted Celtic exit after passing a medical.

The defender has been looking to leave this summer and is about to get his wish. Ajer was left out of Celtic’s Euro squad for Champions League qualifiers because he was pursuing a deal with Brentford that will net Celtic a decent chunk of cash.

That move looks set to go through as early as this evening after Sky Sports latest update.

The report claims everything from the fee to terms have been agreed and it’s just a matter of time before Ajer’s departure becomes official.

The Hoops defender has made 176 appearances for the club and was a fan favourite up until many heard he was chasing the Parkhead exit.

Kris turned from a young bhoy into a man at the club and had been vital for Celtic in recent seasons. His passion for the game is clear when you see him celebrate a tackle like he’s just scored the winning goal in a cup final.

Speaking of scoring a winning goal in the cup final, he did exactly that to confirm the quadruple treble back in December when he smashed home Celtic’s final penalty against Hearts to secure history.

We do wish him all the best for the future.
