There’s talk brewing about a potential reunion between Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah, but it won’t happen at Parkhead.
Celtic have been linked with bringing Kyogo back to the club this month, marking almost a year since he left and his position still hadn’t really been replaced since.
The Hoops did finally secure a striker on loan this week with an option to buy.
Now, though, it seems that another club has entered the picture for the Japanese striker. [WalesOnline]
Idah, who joined Swansea City in the summer, is currently sidelined with injury and is expected to miss a chunk of the remainder of the season, potentially returning around March. With the Championship campaign rolling on, Swansea are reportedly keen to bring Kyogo in as a replacement while Idah recovers.
Kyogo himself is picking up some form. Last weekend, he scored his first Championship goal, and it was his first league goal since leaving Celtic.
There was even talk that Kyogo might have taken a loan back to Celtic earlier this window. He ultimately declined that option, stating that he wanted to fight for his place at his current club and continue building momentum there.
Given his recent form and renewed confidence, it seems unlikely that Swansea will have an easy job convincing him to uproot again, especially at a time when things look like they’re starting to click for him on the pitch at Birmingham.
