CELTIC FANS will be holding their breath this afternoon after Japan confirmed Kyogo Furuhashi would start for his country against Ecuador.

The Hoops talisman is up top for Japan, replacing Daizen Maeda who is out with a thigh injury he picked up this week.

After hearing Gorgios Giakoumakis was struggling with an injury, the aforementioned Maeda knock and the sight of Sead Haksabanovic going off for Montenegro, supporters are rightly concerned about their top striker playing so close to the Motherwell game.

The game kicks off at 12:55 and we will keep you in touch with what’s going on and if Kyogo makes it through the game unscathed.

Personally, Reo Hatate will be hopeful he makes it onto the field today. The Celtic star was snubbed for the first game against USA and was vocal about it. Now, Reo has made the bench, he’ll be desperate to get some game time.

Celtic players are due back at Lennoxtown from Wednesday onwards. The hoops want to get back to winning ways. The last three games has been a loss against Real Madrid, a draw against Shakhtar Donetsk and a loss against St Mirren. We need as many of our players back in one piece as possible.
