Kyogo Furuhashi was once again on the scoresheet for Celtic last night as the Hoops retained their nine point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The Japanese striker has been in outstanding form for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season so far having scored 17 goals in 20 league matches [BBC Sport].

Since returning after the World Cup break in which Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu did not select the attacker for his squad, his form has been exceptional having scored seven goals in his last eight appearances.

He is currently only two goals off his tally for last season as a whole as he scored a respectable 20 goals last season in 33 appearances.

Injury kept him out for a large part of the second half of the last campaign before his return to action in early April but thankfully he has remained fit and has undoubtedly been the Postecoglou’s first choice striker.

One of the main criticisms directed at the forward during Celtic’s Champions League campaign was that he wasn’t clinical enough in front of goal but at present no one can doubt his unbelievable form which is putting his side in a very strong position to go on and win a second league title in a row.
