Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi has came through Japan’s final Kirin Cup match injury free.

The Japanese forward started the game up front but was subbed off at half-time in the match with the scoreline goalless.

Kyogo did not feature in Japan’s friendly against the USA on Friday in Germany but many will breath a sigh of relief knowing he will return fully fit for Celtic.

His teammate Daizen Maeda looks as though he has picked up a knock playing for the international side having not trained or been featured in the Japan Squad for this match.

Injuries are beginning to build up for Celtic and this is very welcome news. Other attacking players looked to have picked up knocks while on international duty with Liel Abada and Sead Haksabanovic also picking up knocks.

There could be potential to see Kyogo and Giakoumakis start at the weekend or Postecoglou may look to James Forrest due to the lack of options in the wide areas due to injury.

The 27-year old has had a great start to the season and has been on fire in domestic football having scored six goals in seven matches for the Hoops.

It will be crucial to keep Kyogo fit for the next batch of games with Celtic set to play 13 matches in 43 days with their Champions League fate set to be decided.
