Earlier this month, many Celtic fans were fearing that Ange Postecoglou’s squad would be without key Hoops man Kyogo Furuhashi due to international duty with Japan.

However, that now looks to have been ruled out due to the 26-year old picking up an injury, which will now be the main focus of why Kyogo is missing from action in the up-and-coming fixtures.

As reported by Go Radio journalist Jo Hendry, Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou provided an update to the media on the injury progress of the Celtic star, stating that ‘it’s not going to be a quick return’, with Kyogo likely to be out of action for the coming weeks.

Despite the January introduction of Daizen Maeda and the return of Georgios Giakoumakis from injury, this will definitely come as a blow to Postecoglou.

Since signing from the J-League in the summer, Kyogo has been a real talismanic figure in the Celtic side, playing a massive part in the early success under Postecoglou – which has led to the 56-year old already lifting his first piece of silverware.

Although it is not clear when Kyogo’s return date might be, Celtic fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that the impressive striker can make his comeback as soon as possible.
