Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi was missing from Celtic’s training on Friday, casting doubts over his avalibilty for Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup clash against Hibs.

The Japanese striker, who has a history of shoulder problems, aggravated the injury during Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hibernian last Sunday. Despite initially playing on after receiving medical attention, he was substituted off, raising concerns about his fitness for the rematch against Hibs this weekend.

With Kyogo’s status uncertain, all eyes are on Adam Idah, who may be set to make his second debut for Celtic.

The club secured Idah’s return on a permanent basis on Wednesday evening for a fee of up to £9.5 million from Norwich City.

Idah’s timely arrival could see him starting up front in Sunday’s encounter if Kyogo is unable to play, providing Celtic with a ready replacement.

The Irish striker was captured in training by SNS Group, while there were no other obvious absentees. Matt O’Riley was still part of the group, however, there is nothing to suggest that he wouldn’t be.

  1. Didn’t really expect kyogo to be involved this weekend, after the treatment he received last weekend imo?
Possibly forced ourselves into paying a higher fee than anticipated for idah as a result also imo?
Should still have this experiment with using Mikey Johnston as the 2nd striker in operation still?
Palma Possibly won’t be involved either imo?
So a straight swap with idah for kyogo is possibly to be expected within our attacking options, for this weekend imo?
