KYOGO’S goal against Fernecvaros has been named as the goal of the group stage, Kyogo got nearly half of the vote. Whether the voters voted because he was in a Celtic shirt or got help from his Japanese fans, Furuhashi will be delighted to receive the award in his first season competing in the competition.
Jota’s assist for the goal can not be forgotten, the inch-perfect pass played Kyogo in one on one.
In a tweet to his followers, Kyogo said he was “so happy” to have his goal voted for the award.
I am so happy!
Thanks to all the Celtic fans and to everyone in Japan that continued cheering for me. I feel I can do my best in every situation.
The only thing I can do in return is to deliver results. I will draw strength from everyone's support? https://t.co/PDl6Pd8URw— Kyogo Furuhashi 古橋 亨梧 (@Kyogo_Furuhashi) December 17, 2021
Kyogo is vital to the team. He often makes brilliant runs but his teammates do not see the space he is running into which frustrates the striker. When they do see his run and play the ball through to him, he often doesn’t need a second look to where the goal is and often hits the back of the net, like he has done 14 times this season.
Celtic have really missed him when he has been sidelined due to injury and will be glad to get him back, whenever that may be.
