Celtic failed to hold onto their lead against Bayer on Thursday night – succumbing to a late flurry by the home side who ran out 3-2 winners.

The positive for Celtic is we were very much competitive away from home against a good side.

The negative is we have a massive gap in quality between our starting XI and what we have on our bench .

Kyogo left the field with Celtic winning, but the substitutes introduced contributed to the defeat in the end.

We can’t afford to make 4 or 5 subs during a game right now, the dip in quality is huge. Ending the game with Johnston, Ajeti and Abada up front did absolutely nothing for the bhoys.

Writing on social media after the game, Kyogo thanked the support and promised this side will stick together after the defeat.

The Hoops will enter the Europa Conference League in the new year, and will play a team who finish second in their conference league group.
