KYOGO is targetting to be a pivotal player in his country’s World Cup success in Qatar later this year.

He’s yet to nail down a starting spot in the Japanese national side, but if he continues the form he’s been in, he’ll undoubtedly add to his three international goals.

Japan secured their spot in the World Cup and has been drawn into a tough group. Three of the four teams have been decided, with Germany, Spain and Japan waiting to find out their other opponent. The Costa Rica v New Zealand winner will make up the remaining spot.

It’s arguably the group of death, but this doesn’t scare Kyogo, who’s been phenomenal in his debut season in Scotland, hitting the twenty goal mark.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Kyogo stated;

“To be honest, I want to go crazy (at the World Cup).

“We can fight against good opponents as a team, so we would like to discuss and express the soccer we want to play first.

“I want to play a game that will lead to winning points at the World Cup.

“I don’t know how much I can play because I think that visible results will be important for me, but if I do, I want to score goals so that the team can win.”

The striker has sent shockwaves through Scottish football. He’ll be looking forward to next season when hopefully, he’ll get through it uninjured and surpass the goal tally he’s set this season.
