HARRY REDKNAPP was asked about his nephew Frank potentially taking over at Celtic after Chelsea asked him on Monday.

Redknapp said he couldn’t speak for Frank but it’s a job that hold great appeal to any manager

“That’s certainly something that would interest any manager. It’s a great club to come and manage, that’s for sure.” Redknapp told SunSport.

“Neil Lennon is still there so I wouldn’t want to talk too much about someone else taking his job but obviously it would be interesting to see Frank in direct opposition to Steven Gerrard.

“I don’t know whether, if the Celtic job came up, it would be something that would interest Frank.

“Obviously Lennon is still in charge and I wouldn’t want to see him lose his job.

“Would Frank want to jump straight back in if it did become available? I wouldn’t know. But you could see the appeal.”

Right now, Celtic can’t even make a decision on our manager’s future and put it out to the support.

The perceived box office of Frank Lampard coming up to Celtic might interest some but I’m more interested in who’s the right man for the job. Frank did a good job at Derby but ultimately fell short before he took on the Chelsea job which looks in hindsight like too much too soon.

A manager like Frank would come with good contacts but is he what Celtic needs going forward? I’m not so sure.

Celtic need a major reboot but the club seem reluctant to make that happen until at least the summer. We are sleep walking into another early European exit if we stick with this sort of mid numbing pace until the end of the season.

  1. Yes, until the season 20-21 ends (with option to extend or leave). He, like Neil Lennon, was given a well established Subutto set. And it all started to break at the legs. Especially in defence.
