ADAM MONTGOMERY is set to join Stephen Glass’ Aberdeen side on loan until the end of the season. [Record Sport]

The 19-year-old was set to move to Killie, but the Ayrshire side had to move players on before they could welcome the Scotland under 21 international to the club. the player also had offers from down south.

Postecoglou is an admirer of the player, only allowing the move to take place if regular first-team action is promised. To develop, Monty must become more experience and Aberdeen is a good place to be able to do so, playing in Scotland’s top flight.

With Aberdeen’s lack of options at left-back, it is likely the player will slot into this position.

After he broke through to the first-team squad at the end of last season Montgomery was rewarded with a long term contract, set to expire in the summer of 2025.

Having played many times for Celtic this season, the player will be keen to return and push for a spot in the team during pre-season.
