People need to be careful what they read on social media. All too often we see accounts pretending to be someone else, changing their usernames to look similar to the person they’re trying to imitate.

Case and point -— on Thursday evening, social media was abuzz with fans suggesting Neil Lennon was for the chop immediately.

The rumour came out of nowhere but many were passing it off as almost facet and passing on the information.

We let our social media followers know last night the tweet was bogus and so did the man who was being imitated.

Stephen McGowan, Mail Sports writes who get man Celtic scoops made it clear he was not behind the post and that someone had intentionally stolen his profile details to try and trick people into believing the news.

It should be a warning to all using social media. Check and double check you’re reading a legitimate account.
