FERNANDO HENRIQUE is set to leave Gremio at the end of this season.

The relegation-threatened side’s league is set to finish on the 28th of November, setting the Brazilian midfielder up to arrive at Celtic Park in January.

Sitting seven points from safety with as many games left, the gaffer – Vagner Mancini – has only given Fernando Henrique the nod sixteen times this season, with it said he is not in the manager’s plans.

In a report from Globo, who first reported Celtic’s interest in the player, states that Celtic is the most fitting club for the player. In their first report, Globo claimed Celtic had made contact with his club over a potential deal.

As good as signing a 16-year-old Brazilian sounds, there are some drawbacks.

Having only played sixteen times throughout his whole career he severely lacks experience and his signing will likely not strengthen the first team.

He will likely be another development player with limited game time, but, signing him would show ambition in a new market.

Ange must decide if his addition will help the title push and act from there.

It does seem more like a Football manager type move when you’re scouting South America for too young talent.
