The latest name to be linked with a move to Celtic is midfielder, Aïssa Laïdouni [Foot Mercato].

Laïdouni starred in all three of Tunisia’s games at the World Cup against France, Australia and Denmark. Undoubtedly, he was noticed by many after his standout appearance against France at the tournament which earned him a man of the match award.

He currently plays for Hungarian club Ferencvaros and was crowned best player in the league last season but looks likely to leave the club as they have set their asking price.

During the two matches which Ange Postecoglou’s side faced the Hungarian champions, Laïdouni played in both games so is no stranger to Celtic Park or the club.

The report states that the 25-year-old would be available for a fee believed to be around €4 million as his current contract at the club runs out in June 2024.

Other clubs are said to be interested in the Angers midfielder with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg reported to have a keen interest in Laïdouni.

Celtic have already added Canadian international Alistair Johnston to their armoury during this winter transfer window alongside Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi.

Once again, it’s exciting to see the club look in different markets for players with it likely that there could be a number of Northern African players heading to Europe after their performances at the World Cup.
