NICOLA STURGEON has said she ‘firmly hopes’ that crowds of supporters will be able to attend the Six Nations Rugby tournament next month.

Scotland is set to host England just three days after the Glasgow Derby.

Ms. Sturgeon’s comments on rugby can also translate into football. Fans should be back in the grounds for February, this should be brilliant news for all fans as she can not open Murray Feild and leave Celtic Park with a small capacity.

Today, the First Minister announced that restrictions on large gatherings will carry on until the 17th of January, the day Celtic are set to face Hibs after the winter break.

It is extremely unlikely there will be a large number of fans in the ground to witness the game.

As for the Glasgow Derby, these comments by Nicola Sturgeon have to give Celtic hope of a full crowd against The Rangers.

The SPFL has written to the Government in the hope some light will be shed on the return of fans and when this may be possible. As of yet, there has been no reported response.
