After playing his last game for Sheffield Wednesday, Gary Hooper has been linked with a move back to Celtic at the age of 31.

Neil Lennon signed the Englishman back in his first stint at the club and he was a great goalscorer. However, he’s just not what Celtic need at this moment in time and while he has been ‘linked’ with a return by SunSport it looks like his future is thankfully elsewhere.

With his future up in the air and being available on a free in the summer window, Gary is attracting interest from Fulham and Aston Villa according to the same SunSport report.

Gary left Celtic before he probably should have with the striker citing aspirations of a call-up at the time but it never came and his form has been up and down since leaving the club for Norwich 6 years ago.

We personally hope he stays south of the border.
