If Celtic are really looking into the possibility of signing David Turnbull from Motherwell then it would spell a problem for one lad trying to break through into the Celtic first team.

Young Ewan Henderson has had his moment this season when he has contributed well and helped the team out. The young midfielder recently signed a new deal at the club and has got some game time but those appearances have been fleeting.

The news Neil Lennon is interested in Turnbull, a 19-year-old who has played most of the season and scored 15 SPFL goals means there could be limited opportunities next term for Ewan if Lennon does get his man.

Ewan is a raw talent but he has a lot of potential. If Celtic stifle him over the next 18 months then it could be curtains for his Parkhead adventure. If Lennon sees Turnbull as a started and Henderson as a project then he must let Ewan go out on-loan for the season to develop.

There’s not much else left for the young lad in the developmental side and he just needs games! If Celtic are clever about it they could offer Ewan on loan to the Steelmen to help facilitate the move in the meantime.

That would be something all parties could get something from.
