There is a lot of positivity around the club at the moment as Celtic look to get their summer transfer business done early but one of the biggest tasks Mark Lawwell faces will be move players on who no longer have a future at Celtic.

The hoops have been quick off the mark this summer having already signed Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei with Jota also expected to be added to that list.

A ‘rebuild’ which the job Ange Postecoglou inherited was dubbed works in both parts with players coming in and some departing.

You cannot get rid of everyone at the one moment with there still being players in the squad that likely do not have a future at Celtic.

With Mark Lawwell’s connections in the football world, it will be important that the club try and move on the big earners.

Barkas has already departed on loan to FC Utrecht which was important and now it’s time to try and find some of the other big earners new homes.

Christopher Jullien’s move to Schalke 04 looks to still be open with interest coming from other clubs. He cost Celtic £7 million when he signed 3 years ago and is likely to be one of the major earners.

Along with Jullien is players such as Albian Ajeti and Boli Bolingoli who will also be on high wages.

If Lawwell can move some of these guys on, it will be as important to some of the players we have already brought in to allow for Ange to have greater scope.
