Celtic’s League Cup tie against Ross County has been pencilled in for the final day in August by Premier Sports.

The broadcaster has confirmed the Hoops will take on their fellow SPFL outfit on Wednesday August 31 with a 7:45KO while Rangers cup tie will play 24 hours before, giving them an extra day to recover for the Glasgow Derby for the following Saturday.

Celtic will have to travel north and arrive back in Glasgow late on Thursday morning before heading straight back into training on Thursday afternoon and train for the massive derby tie.

In comparison, our rivals will play at home on a Tuesday and have the rest of the week to prepare for the Glasgow Derby.

It’s the luck of the draw or the lack of luck in the draw that’s thrown this s.

The club will have to get on with it as best they can and Ange making it clear he needs as much strength in depth as possible has never been more clearer.

Days after the derby we’ll also play our first Champions League game.
