Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is confident that former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic will find a new club and there is nothing to worry about.

Tom Rogic is still on the hunt for a new club after leaving Celtic at the end of the last campaign.

It had been rumoured that he may have been seeking a move closer to his homeland but as of yet nothing has transpired.

With the midfielder withdrawing from Australia’s crunch match against Peru to qualify for the World Cup the national team coach Graham Arnold declared ‘fears’ publicly about the 29-year old.

At that particular time it seemed like a very strange way of showing concern rather than speaking to the player himself.

During his time in Glasgow, Rogic always seemed to be a quiet person that was never one for constant press interviews and seems to just like his privacy which the Celtic boss knows all about.

“I think Tom’s fine mate. Has anyone spoken to Tom? No one spoke to him when he was here for 10 years either, that’s Tom!” Said Ange Postecoglou speaking to the Daily Record.

“I’d be more concerned if he was out there talking to people.

“Leave him alone, he’s fine.

“He’ll get his next move done and I’m sure he’s in a great place.

“As far as I know, and I haven’t been in contact with him, but the people I know say that he’s got no problems.”

Both men knew each other pretty well before Postecoglou took the reins at Celtic and as always the gaffer is very clear about what he makes of it all.

It would be great to see Rogic involved in Australia’s World Cup squad which Celtic would benefit from financially and we wish him well as he continues the hunt for a new club.

  1. Whole situation with Rogic & Bitton leaving is bizarre. Supposed to be mutual but everything suggests the players were released by Celtic when they wanted to stay.
Treatment of Jullien also strange, should be playing alongside CCV but Ange prefers Starfelt, thats fair enough but to choose Welsh ahead of Jullien is ridiculous.

Welsh would struggle to get a game for likes of Kilmarnock or St Mirren. Was shocking in our lost Cup semi v Huns when he came on.

  2. I would have Rogic back. Celtic should tell him if he doesn’t find a club that he can have a year’s extension at the same wages. Most talented player at Celtic. Jullien is strange. He is a good player and would cost 5-7 million to replace with no guarantees that the replacement will be of the same standard. But the manager clearly thinks differently. He has earned the right to be trusted. But every manager, even the great ones have blind spots and favourites. Jullien appears to be one of Ange’s.
