Lionel Richie might be used to hearing crowds sing along to “All Night Long”, but it’s the sight of him posing with a Celtic top that’s caught the attention of Hoops fans this week.
The legendary soul singer, currently touring mainland Europe, was gifted a Celtic shirt by his Scottish support act, Brooke Combe.
The Lothian-born singer, who’s been making a name for herself with a blend of soul and indie influences, has been supporting Richie on tour and took to Facebook to share a series of snaps marking the end of the UK leg.

One standout image shows Combe and Richie smiling while holding up the famous green and white hoops. The singer is a well-known Celtic fan, having previously appeared on the club’s official podcast. The gesture seems to have been a heartfelt parting gift to Richie after what Combe described as an unforgettable few weeks on the road.
“LR X BC UK Tour = Over n oot ✅🥹 What a tour! Class crowds, top laughs, & memories myself & the band won’t be forgetting anytime soon,” she wrote on Facebook. “Huge thanks to @lionelrichie & his team for being the most amazing/inspiring group of people I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside the last few weeks… Not many people get the chance, at 25, to hit the road with a true music legend.”
Combe has been attracting critical acclaim and growing support over the past year and is seen by many as one of Scotland’s brightest musical talents.
She’s been earning plaudits on this recent tour, and will look to use this momentum as a launchpad heading forward.
This latest Celtic connection only endears her further to fans in Glasgow’s East End.
