In the know journalist, Alan Nixon has confirmed Eddie Howe is stalling on his deal with Celtic but then claims there’s a legitimate reason for the Englishman doing so. However, he doesn’t elaborate on the reason.

Nixon also revealed Roy Keane doesn’t believe he’s going to be the next Celtic manager.

Given Eddie Howe and Roy Keane have both been heavily linked with the job above everyone else touted since February, there’s a belief among the support it will end up being one of these men.

The media have been stuck in a loop for three weeks over Howe’s potential appointment.

The biggest take away from what we’ve seen is there just doesn’t seem to be much movement from Celtic behind the scenes and they appear content with whatever is going on.

Apart from a rogue Jose Mourinho chat which came from one source this week [Transfer Podcast], Celtic have only had eyes for Howe since the before the Easter weekend.

We can speculate about the delay but the fullness of time should reveal all.

We’re heading into May and there’s only THREE Celtic games left before this season is in the books.

Season ticket renewals are about to get underway. Celtic might be slow but they’re not daft. The board know going cap in hand to the support after this season without a new manager appointed will only result in an icy response.
