Manchester City assistant coach Enzo Maresca has emerged as a strong candidate for Celtic, who are looking to replace Ange Postecoglou after he departed the club on Tuesday.

As reported by Record Sport, Maresca is firmly on the radar of Celtic’s decision-makers at Parkhead.

However, Celtic may face a challenge in securing Maresca’s services. Leicester City, recently relegated to the English Championship, have also expressed interest in the 43-year-old coach.

Despite the interest from multiple clubs, Maresca, according to the Record’s Spanish sources, is primarily interested in returning to a head coaching role. This could bode well for Celtic, given the managerial vacancy at the club.

However, fans will have to wait for any developments.

With the Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan scheduled for this Saturday, it’s unlikely that any significant developments will occur before then.

Celtic’s appointment has to be the correct one, and they have to hit the ground running straight away.
