LEICESTER have been made odds-on favourite to be Patrick Roberts next destination after the midfielder revealed he wouldn’t be heading back to Celtic Park this summer after his second loan spell ends.

The tricky winger hasn’t had the best of seasons due to injury and the emergence of James Forrest this season meant he saw very little game time.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed yesterday Roberts wouldn’t be a Celtic player next season which has alerted several Premier League sides.

Leicester wanted Patrick Roberts in January but were unable to get him as there was no call back clause in his Celtic deal.

Reports down south claim that Leicester are set to match Manc City’s asking price of £12million for the Englishman.

With the midfielder unlikely to get a chance at City with their superstars flying high after an outstanding league campaign, Roberts best chance of making his mark is at another club.

We wish him all the best wherever he ends up and hope he can play some sort of role in Celtic’s Scottish Cup tie at the weekend.

  1. What a massive backwards step this would be for anyone, let alone Roberts.
Leicester City will be in a relegation fight again next season. Paddy would be better going to Alloa Athletic next season than Leicester. At least the football would be better!
