LEIGH GRIFFITHS could be in bother with the governing body after a video clip emerged of the Dundee striker kicking pyro back into the St Johnstone crowd.

The video is unsavoury for more than one reason – St Johnstone fans were chanting something vile towards Leigh and he’s reacted by kicking a blue pyro thrown onto the pitch, straight back into the crowd.

The former Scotland international is currently on loan at Dundee where he’ll run out the final year of his Celtic contract before being released by the club.

Leigh only signed a year extension with Celtic in the summer but things went south very quickly when a police investigation into online conduct seen the striker removed from the club’s Welsh training camp. The police didn’t take the incident any further and after that, Leigh got one appearance against West Ham at Celtic Park where he was jeered by a number of supporters.

It was best for Griffiths to move on and he signed for Dundee on deadline day. He’s yet to get among the goals for his new club.

He could find a hefty ban coming his way after this incident.

  1. Daft thing to do but what about St Johnstone for letting flares go off. Other clubs have been fined for this. This not wateraboutery, Lee was stupid and deserves punishing, that pyro could have hit a young child. If that was Celtic with flares the press would be all over it and we would be sanctioned.

  2. Totally Agree, Griffiths is not learning any lessons and continues to do the stupidest things, but both Celtic and The Rangers have been punished for pyros which I believe are totally banned from all football stadia.
St Johnstone should also be punished for this.

    • Saints will be punished. . We were punished when it happened in Europe. And the fans paid the fine.so don’t quote that it is only Celtic and rangers that get punished
