LEIGH GRIFFITHS’ time at Celtic officially came to an end on Monday, after Ange Postecoglou confirmed the club had cut the striker’s stay at the club short.

Now a free agent, the former Scotland international is free to negotiate with clubs. The club he spent the first half of the season with, Dundee, has reportedly offered Griffiths a contract. [Daily Record]

Despite failing to impress during his spell in Tayside, Dundee manager James McPake is willing to extend the striker’s stay at the club.

There is no doubt that a fit and firing Leigh Griffiths is almost impossible to defend against, however, it has been a number of years since the 31-year-old has hit top form.

After Celtic extended his contract by a year, Griff failed to keep his head down and got involved with off-the-field matters that led to the police getting involved, this is not the only time he has been in trouble this season.

During the first half of the season, he kicked a lit flare back into the stands, a very dangerous incident that resulted in the forward getting a ban.

It was clear Griffiths would walk at the end of the season but many fans are happy to see the back of the striker earlier than expected.
