LEIGH GRIFFITHS announced himself to the 20/21 season in dramatic fashion against St Johnstone; the Celtic striker, who has been struggling for fitness since pre-season got onto the pitch and bhoy did he make it count.
His Celtic career looked to be all but over when Neil Lennon publicly delivered a dressing down to the frontman after returning to Lennoxtown in horrible shape. But, to his credit, Leigh was praised two weeks later for getting up to speed quickly. His need to push himself in training resulted in an injury which has kept him out of contention until the past few games.
Coming on as a late sub to try and rescue all three points — Leigh did just that! Heading home with pinpoint precision to make it a super Sunday for the Hoops.
After the game, Leigh posted a message to the Celtic support on social media, delighted to be back in the game:
Great to see him back let us hope he is back in the mix for places he gets goals we all know that first of many i hope this season…
