CELTIC’s former Euro foes Leipzig have posted a belter of a tweet as they continue to see the light-hearted side of their Europa League exit.
The German’s ended up third in the Europa League group after a dramatic finish in the Europa League group stages.
Celtic has put themselves in a fantastic position to qualify by beating Leipzig at home and following it up with a rare Europa away win at Rosenborg.
Going into the last game of the group, Celtic just needed a point to qualify when they welcomed Salzburg to town. However, the Austrian side we’re beating the bhoys 2-0 with five minutes to go and Leipzig we’re winning against Rosenberg which meant the German’s we’re heading through.
Then up steps Tore Reginiussen for Rosenborg to score an equaliser minutes from full time meaning Celtic went through instead of Leipzig.
The Rosenborg star has since become a favourite with the Celtic support and even got Christmas presents from some Celtic fans for his part in the drama.
The Leipzig social media page showed things they were blocking in 2019 and the player’s name was in the mix!
