ROSENBORG manager Rini Coolen has told Norwegian press he WILL most likely pick a weaker side against Celtic on Thursday to preserve his side for the big cup final.

We reported yesterday this was a big possibility with the club taking part in the showpiece event on Norwegian football.

While Celtic have their own Cup final to get ready for the bhoys still have it all to play for in Europe whereas Rosenborg are virtually out of the competition.

Speaking about the possibility of playing two full strength sides for both games the Rosenborg manager wasn’t confident it was possible.

“We have to seriously consider the Cup Final, which is just a few days after we play Celtic.” He told the Norwegian press.

It’s possible that some players will be rested for the Europa League match.

“It will be very difficult to pick two full strength teams against both Celtic and Stromsgodset. I wish it was possible.

“Hopefully, we can get some rest before the match.

“The good news is that we have almost fully fit squad which is the first time that has happened in a while and that gives me room to manoeuvre.”

This would be great news for Celtic if Rosenborg are already looking past their game against the Scottish Champions.

There will be no pressure on the XI Rosenborg do put out and it will be up to Celtic to rise to the expectations.

Leipzig might not be happy with Rosenborg doing this, especially when they’ve had to field questions about their Red Bull ‘stitch up’.
