Neil Lennon has confirmed interest in Manchester United full back Alexander Buttner.
The Dutchman is keen on the loan move to the Scottish champions to get more first team football.
His agent is waiting on the green light from Manchester Utd who have still not decided if they are going to let the player go.
Neil Lennon spoke about the player after his sides 1-0 victory at Tannadice.
He said:
“Buttner is a player who came to our attention in the last day or so. I have seen him play in midfield or on the left side, or off the striker.”
“I would like him to play further forward through the middle.”
“He is a really intelligent footballer with a big build, a very good footballer.”
Even if this deal does go through Celtic are still actively looking to bring in some more players before tonight.
Celtic seem to have had a bid rejected for Peterborough winger Lee Tomlin.
