Celtic manager Neil Lennon has today confirmed that the club are currently considering a move for former Sheffield Wednesday and Scotland international, Steven Fletcher.

In the last 24 hours, it looked as if Celtic were set to sign the striker who scored 13 goals in 30 games last season. However, there were rumours flying around this morning that the hoops were set to pull their interest for Fletcher.

Speaking to Sky Sports today, Lennon confirmed that the club were still considering a move for the man they tried to sign all the way back in 2009.

When it was first revealed, that Celtic were looking to move for Fletcher it came under a lot of criticism from fans. Though it may be an interesting move.

With Bayo looking more than likely to be departing the club, the 33-year old could offer something that the other strikers at the club can’t at this current time.

Of course though, this may not be enough in terms of striker cover for Lennon. He will still be looking to get a deal over the line for another attacking player as talks are still on-going with Albian Ajeti and Ivan Toney.
