Despite bringing in two new defenders at Celtic Park so far, Neil Lennon will have a problem next Saturday when both Jozo Simunovic and Christopher Jullien serve out suspensions.

Jozo will miss flag day because of a red card he picked up in a pre-season friendly while Jullien gets punished for infringements last season while with Toulouse. Neil Lennon has enough headaches already with his back four without losing his new record signing defender.

According to The Sun, Lennon had already taken the suspensions into account.

“Julien can’t play the first game and neither can Jozo. That’s something we’re already taking into account going into the game against St Johnstone.

“We know that some players we bring in aren’t quite in the right condition for the start and that’s fine. “We have ample cover in many positions but you want to make it better if you can.”

The French defender is still building up to a competitive start and he could feature Tuesday night when the Celts travel to Estonia in a competitive game that is all but won. Celtic’s first leg performance on Wednesday night against Nomme Kalju FC sees the Bhoys with a five-goal cushion.

Meanwhile, Celtic need to get busy signing more defenders. Boli Bolingoli limped off the park Wednesday night after 35 minutes but later it was reported to be an illness rather than a knock.
