It has been reported today in The Sun that Neil Lennon is one of many managers chasing the signature of ex-Arsenal striker EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR. According to the Sun Celtic are part of a host of clubs eager to sign the 35-year old on a free.

Sheffield United, West Ham and Watford are said to make up the competition from England for the players signature. The last time the striker played in the UK was 2016, he then joined Istanbul Basaksehir.

There is more competition from Italy with a few Serie A clubs also interested. The former Arsenal striker only left Basaksehir yesterday after he scored three goals in 19 appearances last season.

Celtic are expected to announce their first signing of the season today with midfielder David Turnbull. Celtic have spent the last few seasons investing in youth and high potential players. The Adebayor link seems to break from the norm but it is hard to imagine too many Celtic fans getting excited about the signing especially with the player’s high wages.
