Neil Lennon is yet to win a League Cup in Scotland as a manager so he will be pleased with his team’s performance today that gives him passage to the final. The Celtic boss is now only ninety minutes away from the first trophy of the season.

Tomorrow Lennon will learn who his opponents in December will be as Hearts take on Rangers in the other semi-final. In his post-match interview, the Celtic boss praised his captain Scott Brown and commented on the chances of man of the match performer Elyounoussi joining Celtic on a permanent deal.

Lennon called the team performance magnificent and the will to win in the dressing room amazing.

On Scott Brown Lennon said, You see the captain today, he was doubtful before the game and then he pops up with two goals.

On Elyounoussi the Celtic Park boss was full of praise.

“That is his best performance for us since he came here” Lennon told CelticTV. “He is making a massive contribution and only getting better. He’s making us better and we are making him better.”

Asked if there was a chance of singing Moi on a permanent deal the Celtic gaffer said:

“I don’t want to comment on a transfer, he is still a Southampton player.”

The Bhoys now prepare for a trip to Rome to face Lazio and today’s win came at a cost. Bolingoli never came out for the second half with a suspected hamstring injury. Christoper Jullien picked up a head knock early in the first half but he still managed to finish the game off.
