I wondered about the teams dressing room celebration after the cup final when Neil Lennon announced he was giving his players Monday off. For some reason I assumed a day off to a footballer would not be that big of a deal. Now I’m thinking it is probably something to do with how hard you are been trained.

Callum McGregor was speaking with Record Sport about his manager and his winning mentality. Lennon’s desire to win will not come as any great surprise to anyone, they have known that for nearly 20 years.

In my own head, I probably thought the Bhoys would be taking it a bit easy this week with training but that is not the case.

McGregor revealed it’s Lennon’s relentless pursuit of perfection every single day at Lennoxtown that drives Scott Brown and the rest to get the job done.

McGregor said on Lennon’s training: “His standards are super high every single day. He comes out to training and, if one or two are off, he stops it. He just tells us we’re off it, makes us get back on it. That’s the way we work.”

“We don’t have an off day. We don’t have an easy day. Every day we’re trying to get better. And he is the man who steps in and makes that happen. Straight away, he gets everyone back on it. Those are the standards he drives every day, along with Broony and certain other ones.”

There was a lot of noise about Lennon’s methods when he came back as Celtic manager for the second time but the team are playing some of their best attacking football in years and exactly where they need to be for this time of the year.

  1. We are attacking team when we are playing nobody the only time we attack is a ball over the top in a game we are afraid of the team we are up against. Like the rangers games
