Celtic winger Yang Hyun-jun unsurprisingly got the nod once more for his side this afternoon. In his performance, however, the South Korean internationalist flattered to deceive.
On the right-hand side, Yang was sloppy in his play. He failed to threaten nor take on his man and when he got the ball, he either overran it or gave it away.
His display was a huge concern and raised the question of whether he is up to the standard in a Celtic jersey. It says a lot about Yang that Mikey Johnston, a man who has been lambasted by the Hoops’ support, overshadowed him with an impactful cameo.
The decision to take Yang off at the break was one that undoubtedly changed the game. The 21-year-old was in no way splendid and he seems to be yet another one of Celtic’s summer recruits who aren’t at all up to it in green and white.
I’m sorry to say that young Mr Yang is our Lammers equivalent.
