In all the praise many of the Celtic players have been getting for their part in the win against Ferencvaros on Tuesday afternoon we have to give honourable mention to the returning Mikey Johnston.
Brought on for a brief cameo on Tuesday, you could have forgiven the injury prone winger for feeling his way back into things and keeping a low profile.
Mikey did the exact opposite! The player was a live wire when he came onto the field and could have grabbed two assists on another day.
Johnston has been beyond frustrated with his injury situation over the past few years. Every time it looks like he’s going to have a stand out season, it gets curtailed by a medium to long term injury.
It’s now up to Mikey to show he can be part of Ange’s squad. I think the player will know himself that any more injuries could result in his Celtic career finishing before he reaches his full potential.
Tuesday was a great start.
