Liam Scales decision to head out on loan to Aberdeen has already been vindicated after the Celtic player received a call up to the Ireland national team.

Liam joined Celtic last year, but his game time was very limited. Brought in as a left-back, Liam couldn’t dislodge Greg Taylor from the side and had to do with minutes in cup games or when injuries were piling up.

Since his move to Aberdeen, Liam has been played as a centre-back by fellow Irishman Jim Goodwin.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and today the player finds himself in the Irish set up. Although he did see red at the weekend for his loan club.

Can Liam make it at Celtic?

Ryan Christie once completed a successful loan up north with the Dons, coming back to Celtic and making the breakthrough to the first team under Brendan Rodgers.

If Liam applies himself and shows he can take his game to a new level, there’s every chance the Irishman can come back as a centre back option.

  1. Defies belief that we turned down a reported £3.8m from France for Stephen Welsh.

Really dont see why Ange seems to rate him. Jullien was shown the door, Scales too and they were better options than him. Starfelt seems to another favourite yet im convinced he only looked better because of CCV
