Celtic defender Liam Scales has rejoined team training at Lennoxtown, signalling a timely boost for the Hoops as they prepare for their Scottish Cup semi-final clash against Aberdeen.

The club released images from Friday’s session showing Scales actively participating with the squad, after being sidelined for last weekend’s match due to an injury.

In his absence, Maik Nawrocki filled in against St Mirren, playing for over an hour before being substituted for Stephen Welsh. Nawrocki’s performance was solid, though it was evident that he was still finding his match rhythm, reflecting his lack of recent game time.
Despite Nawrocki’s reasonable display, there is a vocal section of the Celtic fanbase advocating for his inclusion from the start in the upcoming semi-final at the national stadium.
Scales’ return to training is a positive development for Celtic, providing additional defensive stability as they head into a critical phase of the season. He’s been Celtic’s most used central defender this season.
