Celtic’s performances this season and the club’s activity, or lack of, in the January transfer window, have led to visible discontent among fans, culminating in banners and chants directed at the club’s board.

Despite these external pressures, the team is channelling their energy towards on-field performance, emphasising their commitment to winning games and satisfying the fanbase’s hunger for success.

Scales addressed the situation on Celtic TV, stating, “That’s not got too much to do with us [the banner].

“We are here to do one job and that’s to win games and that’s what we are focused on.

“Obviously, we want everyone to be on the same page like fans, players and staff. We all want to be going in the same direction.

“For us as players, we are just focused on the football and that’s it – look the fans want success. They want titles and trophies. If we win games, that’s what we will get. We feel that is the way to keep everyone happy is to be playing football.

“It’s not really our main focus. We aren’t focused on external things. We are looking at what we can do as a team and what is it we can do better to win games, and that’s it!”

Players like Scales are keen to redirect the conversation towards what can be controlled – their performances and results in upcoming matches, starting with the crucial fixture against Hibernian.

It’s a big game for Celtic, and it really is a mist-win. Celtic are top of the league heading into the match, but just by goal difference. Three points and a good team performance are needed in the capital.

It’ll be interesting to see the reaction from Saturday, from everyone. The manager has to make a few changes and some players need to step up.
