LIAM SHAW has delivered some great insight into what’s going on at Lennoxtown now that Ange Postecoglou is in charge.

Liam has come in this summer and won’t have any bad Lennoxtown habits from the Neil Lennon regime.

The former Sheffield Wednesday man revealed the high intensity training sessions where the manager looks to push the players and get their mindset right is proving effective so far.

The midfielder explains there are short sessions but the training is very high intensity.

Ange getting his philosophy across to the players as well. He said in many press conferences last week he doesn’t care if you make a mistake but he absolutely cares how players react to it. If you don’t get your head down and work to correct the mistake then the manager will not have time for you.

Postecoglou wants to play positive attacking football, and that will give way to mistakes being made. If players are to be brave in possession they cannot be scared of giving possession away.

Speaking to CelticTV, Shaw said:

“Training has been really good.

“The gaffer has come in and the intensity of the sessions has improved because that’s what he wants to get across to the players.

“He wants us to play our way and play good attacking football with a lot of attacking and just focus on ourselves.

“It’s all about the reaction as well. The gaffer’s come in and said it’s alright to make mistakes, it’s about the reaction.

“So, if you give the ball away don’t throw your hands up in the air.

“The counter-press as well, we’re really focusing on that.”

“He just wants a quick reaction to get the ball back.

“It’s been short intensity, so shorter sessions but really fast intensity pressing.

Celtic are about to embark on a pre-season training camp in Wales next week where they’ll be preparing for their Champions League qualifier on July 20.
