Liel Abada’s time with Celtic looks set to come to an end as his agent is reportedly set to hold crucial talks with the club regarding a potential transfer to MLS.

Abada

The 22-year-old Israeli winger has been absent from Celtic’s lineup in their last two matches, with manager Brendan Rodgers citing that Abada is not in the right frame of mind to play for Celtic, amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine and the resulting pro-Palestine demonstrations among some Celtic fans.

Despite interest from clubs in England, Germany, and France during the January transfer window, Abada remained at Celtic, where he signed a new four-year contract in September, extending his stay until 2027.

According to Israeli media outlet Sport 5, Abada’s agent is due to travel to Glasgow to discuss the player’s future, with a move to the MLS emerging as a viable option. The MLS transfer window remains open until April 23, providing a potential pathway for Abada’s exit from Celtic. However, it’s reported that Celtic’s stance on not allowing a loan departure means any interested MLS clubs would need to meet Celtic’s valuation of the player.

The problem cited in negotiations appears to be the transfer fee demanded by Celtic, which could potentially hinder the move. Despite these challenges, a transfer away from Parkhead remains a possibility for Abada, whose situation has garnered significant attention both within and outside Scotland.

  1. Why did he sign a new and better paid”contract till 2027 and now he is not in the right frame of mind to play because of the conflict in Gaza he is now to up set to play for Celtic well why did he sign a new contract does not make any sense .

  2. Look into the real issues here.
    1. Why are we displaying Palestine flags at Celtic, its a behavior that’s nothing to do with us.
    2. He and the rest of the team can’t play under Rodgers horrendous style, Abada is a fast moving forward, the lad can’t play slow boring football, Larsson wouldn’t fit into Todgers garbage system.
    3. Yes there are problems in his homeland, our idiots don’t help, political issues and wars are not required in an industry that’s supposed to be entertaining.

Tha flag wavers should stay home, at least until their flags are for Celtic only.
