Cameron Carter-Vickers has got his reward for the shift he’s put in at Celtic this season. The centre-back was recalled to the US squad after a long absence and will now try and convince the coaches he’s worthy of a World Cup slot.

CeltsAreHere.com has spoken with people close to the US camp in recent weeks who claim it will be an uphill battle for CCV to gain a place in the Gregg Berhalter’s side. The American coach has his favourites and while the Celtic defender has been called up – he will have to really impress to turn heads.

The international break this summer could slow down any move for the centre-back. There were promising reports earlier this week the Spurs defender has already agreed personal terms with the Hoops but Celtic and Spurs have still to settle finer points of a fee. [RecordSport]

Celtic fans are desperate to see the big defender stay for Celtic’s Champions League tilt next term.

The club has a lot of work to do between now and the beginning of pre-season. We know Ange likes his business done as early as possible. Having both Cameron and Jota back before pre-season training starts would give the whole squad a massive lift.

  1. If Carter Vickers has settled on personal terms then that matter is closed and the only negotiations that need to be done now is between Celtic and Spurs with regards to a fee and how it will be paid.

CCV has no input into this. He could be on the moon for all it matters.
